Happy Birthday To Me (^_^)

Yesterday was my birthday but it started on the weekend, a few friends joined me to go hiking on Mount Seymour to celebrate. It was a lot of fun, thanks to the awesome people who decided to join in my craziness (^_^) like 2010 there was still a lot of snow but not as warm or sunny as 2010 but still AWESOME. Can’t wait to go back in summer to hike again. It was a good thing we went to Ihop before the hike, gave me energy to survive the hike. After hiking we weren't really that hungry so we just stopped at Safeway to grap some food. I didn't know they had a place for you to order cooked food. I ordered a Tuscan Chicken combo, which was ok & not too of bad of price for the combo. Saw a corgi dog soo cute, I want one (^_^)

On my birthday at work I received a dozen yellow roses from my manger…so sweet & I got to leave an ½ hr early (^_^) I meet up with a few friends for dinner, it was suppose to be at a sushi place but they close at 8 (>_<) way to early so we went to The Golden Boot since it was right next door. I ordered a pizza again, I had left over’s for today’s lunch. After dinner I went to hang out with Mama Gen’s bf & friend for sushi. There was a BIG surprise waiting for me there, Mama Gen had the restaurant staff turn off the lights (which at that time I had no idea what was going on, I thought they lost power or something) and brought me cake with candles…I was sooo surprised & Happy. Mama Gen is the BEST…LOVE U (^_^) & the cake was yummy...

Mama Gen's Spaghetti alla Carbonara & My Pizza Capricciosa

I got so many awesome gifts from my friends. One of my friends got me a gift card from Metrotown…shopping time (^_^)  another friend got me a pair of sandals at AE (^_^) My BFF got me a beautiful pair of flats from Aldo. Another friend got me a lovely bouquet of flower. I got a lot of birthday wishes from friends, which I am really happy to receive. I have AWESOME friends…I LOVE them all.

The Vancouver Sun Run & Save-On-Meat

The Vancouver Sun Run is an annual 10K race. One of my friends was in it. I followed the race for a bit then took skytrain to the finish line to snap some shots of my friend when she past the first line (^_^)

After the race we went for lunch at Save-On-Meat in Gastown. It is a nice little place in a not so great neighborhood but it is a busy place. The food is good, I ordered the Club Sandwich & also got the Signature Chocolate Bacon Cookie which wasn't bad it taste like a regular cookie with a hint of bacon taste. The service was good & interesting diner interior. The price is good, so if you want to get good food for cheap this is the place. I would like to go back to try there All Day Breakfast & there interesting milkshakes.

David Choi Concert

On Thursday I went to see David Choi in concert, my BFF accompanied me even though she had no idea who he is...thanks (^_^) It was an awesome show. He is a good singer & a good entertainer. He knows how to talk to the audience & keep them entertained which is a very good thing. This is my second time attending his concert. Last time it was at a club which restricted 19 & under from attending, this time it was at a theatre for all ages. His opening performers were soo much better then last time, a band called New Heights. After the show there was a meet & greet, my BFF & I stood in line for over an hour & a half to get a picture taken with David & the lead singer of New Heights...we didn't get home until 1am but it was fun (^_^)

Lunar Festival

On Friday I went to the Lunar Festival event downtown. I did not intentionally go there to attend the event I was downtown and needed to kill some time before dinner and it looked interesting so I went in...it was also free too...it is the Asian in me, we LOVE free stuff (^_^) There wasn't much to see, they had some nice lanterns but they didn't display it nicely, too much empty space in the room. And I won a dragon hat that flashes...actually I was suppose to get a pen but the guy changed it to hat which was ok with me since that is what I wanted.

Bday Gift & CNY Parade

My BFF birthday is next week. I got her tickets for the Broadway production of Beauty of Beast and a Visa gift card. I love surprises so this is how I disguise the gift, stuff it with staples (^_^)

Went to the Annual Chinese New Year Parade in Vancouver Chinatown. It was a rainy day (>_<) I thought there wasn't going to be that much people but there was a lot. I couldn't find a good spot to watch the parade so I didn't get to see my cousin lion dancing. I didn't stay long, even though it did stop raining near the end but no good spot and didn't want to be caught up with the crowd going home. Next year I have to go back and get a good spot. Better pictures next time (^_^)

Wedding Fair & Potluck

On the weekend I went to the Wedding Fair with my friends who will be getting married in September (I am going to be there bridesmaids:) It was an interesting experience, saw some beautiful displays, awesome photographers & pretty dresses

Later after the Fair I went home to make Kimbap (korean style sushi) for the potluck at my place in the evening. For the potluck we had bacon wrapped in asparagus, shrimp & enoki mushrooms. Home-made spinach dip, kimichi, ginger & home-made tiramisu. My friend also brought over some wedding magazines so we looked though them. Fun time with friends

My friend gave me some candy from her trip to Rome in November (haven't seen her since then). The chocolate was good but the candy called "Pastiglie Digestive Dessetanti Leone" was disgusting. It smelt like soap and almost taste like it too...yike. At first I thought it was soap but I googled it and found there website...it is candy. A interesting weekend (^_^)

My brothers wedding

The wedding was quite and simple with only close family attending the signing of the papers at my parents house. The reception was a typical Chinese one with a lot of food, 10 dishes & 3 desserts including the cake. I had a good time and I'm happy for my brother & my new sister-in-law (^_^)

I helped out with there wedding by creating the wedding favor boxes for the guests. It was a lot of work cutting out, spray painting, gluing together, creating tags, adding glitter for over 50 boxes. I had help putting everything together thanks to my other brothers girlfriend, my cousin & niece...some girl time together. I also made my own wedding card instead of buying one since I couldn't find anything I liked. I get inspired and creative once in awhile and usually at the very last minute (^_^)

Grandma's Bday Dinner

Celebrated my grandma's birthday yesterday, like every year we had a lot of food left over that was packed up...we were all too full to eat anymore. Some dishes I didn't even get to try...I was way too full
