Umbrella & Eyeliner

I finally used my Metro Gift card, I got essential stuff I need (sort of). I got a compact umbrella from Shoppers Drug Mart & Makeup Forever Aqua eyeliner from Sephora. I hope this umbrella will last me, I have no luck with umbrellas & it is essiental when you live in BC. The price tag for the umbrella is $25 (+tax)

I am looking for a good eyeliner that will stay on my eyes. The Makeup Forever Aqua eyeliner didn't last on my eyes the first time I tried it but then I rubbed it off by accidents (totally forgot I had it on). Will need to try it out a few more times before I decided if it works for me or not. The eyeliner is 28 (+tax)

Gem Crush

Tried out the nail polish that Mama Gen got me for my bday. They are both really pretty but I prefer the Be-jeweled over Lady Luck since Lady Luck looses it sparkle no matter how much top coat I put on it, well the Be-jeweled I don’t need to put a top coat on & it still sparkles. I found this same problem with the Cha-Ching! as well. I don’t think darker colors work that well, the lighter colors are better (^_^)

Mama Gen Bday Gift

Mama Gen gave me my belated birthday gift (^_^) she was waiting for everything to arrive before giving it all to me. I got 2 Sally Hansen Gem Crush nail polishes #5 bejeweled & #7 Lady Luck, Canmake mascara & Canmake eye base. Also one final gift which was in the back of the car...mama Gen made work to get it, had to walk all the way to the back (:P)...she got me a friends picture frame with pictures of some of the good times we spend together so far with some added embellishments (^_^) LOVE everything. Thank you Mama Gen (^_^)

Happy Birthday To Me (^_^)

Yesterday was my birthday but it started on the weekend, a few friends joined me to go hiking on Mount Seymour to celebrate. It was a lot of fun, thanks to the awesome people who decided to join in my craziness (^_^) like 2010 there was still a lot of snow but not as warm or sunny as 2010 but still AWESOME. Can’t wait to go back in summer to hike again. It was a good thing we went to Ihop before the hike, gave me energy to survive the hike. After hiking we weren't really that hungry so we just stopped at Safeway to grap some food. I didn't know they had a place for you to order cooked food. I ordered a Tuscan Chicken combo, which was ok & not too of bad of price for the combo. Saw a corgi dog soo cute, I want one (^_^)

On my birthday at work I received a dozen yellow roses from my manger…so sweet & I got to leave an ½ hr early (^_^) I meet up with a few friends for dinner, it was suppose to be at a sushi place but they close at 8 (>_<) way to early so we went to The Golden Boot since it was right next door. I ordered a pizza again, I had left over’s for today’s lunch. After dinner I went to hang out with Mama Gen’s bf & friend for sushi. There was a BIG surprise waiting for me there, Mama Gen had the restaurant staff turn off the lights (which at that time I had no idea what was going on, I thought they lost power or something) and brought me cake with candles…I was sooo surprised & Happy. Mama Gen is the BEST…LOVE U (^_^) & the cake was yummy...

I got so many awesome gifts from my friends. One of my friends got me a gift card from Metrotown…shopping time (^_^)  another friend got me a pair of sandals at AE (^_^) My BFF got me a beautiful pair of flats from Aldo. Another friend got me a lovely bouquet of flower. I got a lot of birthday wishes from friends, which I am really happy to receive. I have AWESOME friends…I LOVE them all.

Busy Friday

Friday was a busy day with picking up my brother...the right date this time (^_^) & eating out the whole day. I ate lunch out that day because I didn't want to carry to much stuff with me. I went with one of my co-workers to Cheers Restaurant & Catering which I read some good reviews on for it's cheap good food. I ordered the lamb Slovakia which came with potatoes, rice, bread & a salad for $7.99. The lamb & the bread were good, everything else didn't taste good not Greek at all but for the cheap price you can't really expect that much. My co-worker ordered the cheeseburger which came with fries, onion rings & bottomless coffee or pop for only $6.99. She said the cheeseburger was only OK. The service was only OK, a bit slow but then again that could be because we were in a rush to get back to work and we didn't tell them to put a rush on our food. The interior was nothing special, kind of disorganized & mix-matched. If I ever go back I would like to try there breakfast next time. They have some breakfast deal for $5.

Vancouver International airport or YVR has been ranked best airport in North America for the third time this year (^_^)

For dinner I went with my brother, his GF & our cousins to sushiholic for sushi. My brothers GF wanted sushi, so I tried to find a place close by. We ordered a Rainbow roll $9.95, 12 pcs of assorted tempura $10.95 & sushiholic tray which is 54 pcs of sushi for only $23.95. The food was OK, I thought the batter used on the tempura was really good but the sushi was nothing really special. The price was really good for the tray but the other stuff were just standard price. The service was good but very busy so most of the time you will need to call them over to refill tea. The interior was nice. I would go back to this sushi place if I am in the area.

After sushi we decided to go for dessert downtown to Thierry again. This time the desserts weren't that great. We ordered fruit tart which was OK but nothing really special about it. This time they had the passion fruit mousse that I wanted to try, it was OK but really sour. And the chocolate tart was way too rich in flavor. So Thierry is very hit or miss.

My brother & his GF got me some gifts (^_^) from there trip. Some beautiful scarves, a nice hair brush, bling doggie, hanging sky lantern from Taiwan & dried guava which didn't taste good (>_<)

It was nice seeing my brother & his GF again, there are many times when I do miss having my family around. I hope they can come back to visit longer next time.

Lavender Plant & Dried Mango

One of my co-workers gave me 3 lavender & another type of plant (she forgot the name of it). I have never taken care of any plants before so hopefully they well grow. She said I have to water once every day & I need to talk to them...which sounds wired but I heard it really works. I will need to buy some nicer pots for them soon.


Also another co-worker just came back from the Philippines & she gave me some dried mangoes ...so sweet of her. I LOVE dried mangoes (^_^)

Valentine Gift

Mama Gen (my nickname for one of my very good friends) gave me a early valentine day gift....homemade yummy sugar cookies, Lindor chocolate, cute Hello Kitty pencil & card (^_^) she is soo sweet...Love u ♥♥

Handmade Paper Bracelet

Over the weekend my BFF went to a fund raiser and she got me a beautiful handmade bracelet made out of paper. I usually don't wear any jewellery since it is always the last thing I think about when getting dressed and I usually forget all about it. But I do have a lot of jewellery I should try to remember to wear it once in awhile (^_^)

Christmas

Christmas has come & gone again. Had a quite Christmas...opened gifts in the morning. Here is what santa left for me under the tree (hehehe...) Nailtiques nail strengthen since my nails are very weak & chip very easily. My friend gave me the same card last year but didn't remember if she did or not since she has a whole box of them. But when she came over she saw that card at my house so she adding some stuff to this one. Got a pretty floral necklace, a lot of yummy candy, an American Eagle white lace back sweater (my BFF remembered that I pointed it out to her before), a purse from Aldo, my croc boots that I talked about in another post. A Blackberry Playbook which my brother gave me...since he bought 2 for some wired reason so I asked for it and he gave it to me and I already opened it up and started using it before Christmas. And my good friend made homemade sugar cookies, they were sooo good I ate them all that day. Thanks to my friends for the awesome gifts.

Afterwards my BFF made a healthy Christmas lunch for us at home which included mango salad, sweet potato's, grilled salmon & steamed vegetables. It was not bad.

After lunch we relaxed a little before heading out to watch the new Sherlock Holmes movie, which turned out to be a lot better then I thought it would be...it is a movie worth going to watch. My BFF and I both made a steak sandwich to take along with us for the movie since it started at 7 pm, that was our dinner. I had a good Christmas. I hope everybody else had a good Christmas too (^_^)
